Damien Gerard Studios is one of the oldest, continuously operating recording facilities in Australia. Established in 1983 and beginning as a ‘demo’ studio where bands such as Divinyls, Hoodoo Gurus, Spy vs Spy, The Models, Icehouse and so many more used the studio for song writing, pre production and often tracking. By the late 1980s the studio was renown as the most affordable high quality studio for final product recording in Sydney and many bands such as Noiseworks, Rose Tattoo, The Maybe Dolls and Died Pretty created complete albums in the space.

With the new facility in West Gosford opening late 2019, our studios are equipped to record any style of music or size of act – from a singer songwriter to an orchestra (the live room is 160 square meters) and everything in between including corporate work such as voice overs and audio books.

The Damien Gerard complex has a full service main studio based around a brand new SSL Origin(the first in Australia) all analog large format 64 fader / 88 Input console, the latest in studio monitoring via The Focal system, state of the art Pro Tools and an MCI 24 Track Tape Machine. Mixing and mastering can also be handled within the facility. Plus keeping in line with modern technology we also have remote mixing and mastering services available to allow a more flexible choice of engineers.

Our Array of Vintage Mics, Neve pre amps(1073’s) and Classic Compressors (LA2A, 1178, LA12, API, Neve, Vandenberg)) are complimented by Lexicon, Roland and Pultec and Ensoniq Outboard as well as a wealth of plugins of all kinds on the PT Rig.
Along with an Orion 32 I/O Interface and the over 40 square metre Control Room and extra acoustic spaces, there is also a selection of classic amps and instruments, electric and acoustic guitars, bass, drums(Ludwig 1962) and keys including a brand new Kawai Upright Acoustic Piano, Hammond, Wurlitzer and Fender Bassman, Vox AC30 and Marshall Amps.

To this end you will find a well fitted out artist lounge, kitchen facilities and the most comfortable couches on the central coast spread about the live room. Our highly experienced engineers specialize in keeping the artist chilled out but as creative as possible, which is what creating world class recordings is all about – just ask our clients.
