Damien Gerard Studios takes delivery of New SSL Console

Meet DGS Latest Arrival

Damien Gerard Studios, now residing one hour north of Sydney on the Central Coast, has recently taken delivery of a brand new all analog SSL Origin 88 input recording console, built at their Oxford, UK factory and delivered to us in record time by Aussie distributor Amber Technology.

Since the 1970’s the SSL name has been synonymous with the highest standards of audio excellence and their consoles can be found in some of the best high end recording facilities the world over.

This is a key step towards our dream of establishing a multi-room recording complex and creative music hub here on the Coast that is accessible to all.

This board caps off over 30 years of console evolution at DG’s, and coupled with the recent additional Neve 1073 Preamps and Pultec Equaliser it’s a massive step up.

I can’t wait to patch it in and run it up, the routing possibilities, the driven preamp option, etc. – I’ve been smiling a lot since it came through the loading dock.

With the board arriving last week the current control room has been de-commissioned for the changeover and the installation will happen over the next two weeks to be up and running for new bookings from October. Watch this space for more updates as we install and test.
